Pictures from Nicola in Cape Town, South Africa - Taken on a handheld camera held against a 6 inch reflector at Cape Town Observatory!!

Pictures from Peto's website. Peto joined us on the Skypecast from Slovakia.
These were made by the Mira Public Observatory, in Grimbergen, Belgium. In Slovakia and the Czech Rep. there were clouds and rain, almost in the whole country. Our Czech friends with their friends in Belgium and from other countries joined forces to bring us the eclipse online. "Although I couldn't see the eclipse personally,I could enjoy it thanks to the friends from Czech rep. and all of u from Skypecast. It was a pleasure for me to be with u. Thanx." says Peto. Thank you for the feedback! :)

Good news:
It is not necessary to wear any particular eye protection when observing a lunar eclipse.
Warning:
You need to protect your eyes if you want to observe a solar eclipse!
